network app

Speaking of which, I have a Windows app that doesn't seem to have its network 
features functional. It's a flight simulator, X-Plane. http://x-plane.com

I'm using somewhat dated versions of the sim, but basically everything works 
except network. The multiplayer screen in the sim is supposed to report your 
IP address but it always shows up as127.0.0.1, evidently it doesn't know it's 
connected to the net. Any ideas?
