installing programs

Hi, im new at wine. Ive just installed wine on a i686 running Fedora Core 1.0 from the .rpm packages, also ive been reading the FAQ and the documentation and i cant find anywhere "How to Install Programs", i dont want to use CrossOver, just plain Wine, and run some programs, please i will appreaciate any help. Thanks
