It is possible to run Win32 console apps (like a C compiler or perl),  
and it is possible to run 16-bit DOS programs,  like an even older C or 
Pascal compiler.  However,  development has not concentrated on that 
part of the system.  If you want to run old DOS games or complex 
applications,  you would probably have more success with DOSEMU.
