The trouble with WINE

To run a DOS program within Windows, one usually has a PIF, program
information file which specifies some options such as window size, close on
exit, fonts, etc. One does not have to edit a dos.config with special items
for every program he want to run.
WINE should have something like this as well. The blank would be generated and
"learned" when the program first run. This file can be edited, either from a
text editor or a right click on the WINE window (assuming it gets that far).
This way, no need to reconfigure WINE for every trial and tribulation.
Good idea?
