Never mind,

I got the latest ALSA libs and oss-libs and tried again. It built fine. 
The patch applied OK and Wine compiled OK but I still don't have 
everything working right. I can get sound in Half-Life under wine using 
the wineoss driver, but no sound from Unreal with any of the Wine drivers.
