This i why I would like to know if other mdk10 users experience the same 
problem

To be sure I first deleted all files generated by the 'tar' operation.
The result is the same as before. 
The config.h is missing.
Running the ../tools/config.guess' results in the same message as running 
'./configure' without the build addition.
