ok I made some attempts:
with debian 20041019 - buttons enabled but non playing.
(I apperciate your doubt - I want to try again though and if succesful 
I'll let you know!)

with deb 20041201 20050111 20050211 play/stop buttons not even enabled

what a shame I can't ditch windows yet :((
