We have no other wine application that produces sound but I could test it.

Is the esddsp wrapper part of esound? I have esd installed I don't seem
to have esddsp available on my system (Ubuntu Dapper).
I found the entry in bugzilla:
http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=312665
It seems they left the patch alone. :-( I hope the patch works against
our esd version without too much trouble.

About polypaudio as far as I know its unmaintained. Besides that it
would probably be quite some work to switch our thinclients of using esd
to polyp.

In any case thanks for you response. I have regained a little hope now
that we might be able to fix it.
