Someone has got to have an idea as to what to suggest, it may be no-one has 
any good idea at the moment.

Trouble is with wine problems is that it caters for Windows programs so any 
person replying has got to have a wee bit of experience with that Windows 
program.

Try launching wine with the sudo command, that sometimes resolves issues.
