ok, on a hunch i uninstalled wine 0.9.30 and installed 0.9.20 since it works
with
the dcom98 problem i had earlier , and lo and behold it 'just works' (i'm
using cups on
suse 10) as the documentation
claims. Are these kinds of regressions tested from version to version
