[Wine] ancient directx version support

I just had a missionforce cyberstorm moment last week

It *needs* 256 color's - even in windows. Also FWIW in
windows 2000 and xp the intro movies dont work :)

Anyway i quenched my cyberstorm twinge in windows, to get
it running i had to set it to win95 emulation and run in
256 colors (you right click and one of the tabs has the
options)

So in wine, try win95/win98 and have X in 256 colors.

For this very reason i was going to ask people if it
were possible to have a color depth translation layer.
However im sure it would be a nightmare with variable
palettes.
