Yep I see that now. However in the /etc/apt/sources.list file I show:

deb http://wine.budgetdedicated.com/apt dapper main
deb-src http://wine.budgetdedicated.com/apt dapper main

Those were cut & pasted directly from:
http://www.winehq.com/site/download-deb

I have also tried with only:
deb http://wine.budgetdedicated.com/apt dapper main
[removing the deb-src reference]
with exactly the same results.

Apparently I am not the only one with this problem, there is a post over
on the gmain.linux.ubuntu.user list/group with the same problem.

....

Ok while writing this I went back to the Synaptics Package Manager and
deleted the repository references, closed, and then opened & added _only_
deb http://wine.budgetdedicated.com/apt dapper main back in (with no
deb-src) from the SPM. It now works.

So I'm not sure what happened the first time around. Repository
reference in SPM looks the same, /etc/apt/sources.list file looks the
same. Anyway, thanks for pointing out the double 'dist/dapper' -- all is
ok now :-)
