I am having the same issue. I am currently running Wine 1.0-rc5. Can get to the screen past the initial "preorder Spore" screen, with the rotating galaxy. The colors appear washed out, but I can interact with the spiral (click and drag to alter rotation). I can run the same executable on my windows laptop without issue.
