What you probably want to do is "open" an exe file directly from the browser instead of saving it, right? It will work but if you want to keep the exe you'll have to copy it somewhere else from /tmp afterwards.

Instead of creating topics you might want to actually try it, first... If it doesn't work, download and open it in the console to see if the app just wouldn't run, because that was more likely the case than that you aren't able to "open" the file in Firefox etc.
