Strange beaviour

WINEDEBUG=+gdi wine tax.exe -> WORKS

WINEDEBUG=+gdi wine tax.exe 2>/dev/null -> DOES NOT WORK

WINEDEBUG=+gdi wine tax.exe 2>/tmp/x -> WORKS


Can anyone explain ???
