When someone asks how to do <x> telling them they don't need <x> or shouldn't do <x> is not constructive.  It's not like I just picked a random secure tracker off google and got mad because it didn't work.  It's a friendly community I've been a member of for two years.

Your second suggestion, however, is constructive and I will try it next time I install Ubuntu.  I've already gone back to Windows because of this issue, among others.
