The two sets of instructions you followed are both outdated; no overrides should be needed to install Office 2003 in 1.1.6. However, from your console output, I think you may be running into http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=14993 . This bug only affects some versions of Office 2003.

Try installing to a clean wineprefix (no overrides, nothing else installed), and if you still run into the same problem, please post a comment in the bug report that you, too, are experiencing this problem.
