That's the program itself, not the installer.

> Could not find mfc42.dll but I did find an msvcirt in the wine config.  Did not make a difference.  This program is an equal opportunity system lock-up and die program.  Having to do a hard reset on this machine is making me a little nervous.

A hard reset indicates a kernel or driver bug. Userspace can't lock up
the kernel.
