Nope, not the case. In fact, I discussed this today on the irc chat. Somebody tried to help me, he had the game as well. He installed it too, got the same problem with his copy, different OS, different computer. It seems this is a bug that occurs for some people.

I tried everything I could think of, different windows version for wine, different wine version, you name it. It's just something I can't do.  :(
