Not really. Remove ~/.wine prefix (or make a new one) and install your game.

Do not use POL in any way shape of form, or your topic would be just closed. Report any issues when using POL to their forum.

The stutter could be caused by lagging audio (have you removed/disabled pulseaudio?) Or video memory management bugs (lower down picture quality, increase video memory size in registry).
