You know how some sites displayed random quotes (like thinkgeek), customers doesn't get bothered by it there, so why should they get bothered here? It's just another way to get the word out and distribute work.

And someone said something about just one bug per day isn't that usefull, then why not just make it like ThinkGeek and display a new message for every new hit.

Another more complicated system would be to have like a rep system (sometimes used by other forums) But instead of displaying others opinions of you it should display the number of old bugs you checked up upon.
