I have exactly the same problem as you, although I'm fairly familiar with linux/unix environments and still am having a hard time. Even if you get to compile wine under Snow Leopard you will probably encounter trouble.

I have found this:

Apparently it is a wine build (1.1.31.2) wrapped inside a .app. I have not tested it yet. I'm downloading it right now but I hope it will solve my problems.
