If that's a solution for you, then good. :)

But if you want to help Wine be able to run the game a bit easier (or at all) in the future, could you be so kind as to try to run the game in a terminal and post any terminal output you get? This helps developers identify the problem, and if it has something to do with a missing/incorrect implementation of something in Wine it can be fixed in future versions.
