[Wine] EVE Online crashes at splash screen

I'm trying to get Eve working with Wine. I've tried Eve the latest two
builds of Eve with Wine 1.2 and 1.3.0 (1.3.1 isn't available as a
package for me yet) I get the following messages on the console and the
crash happens while the splash screen is still displayed:

I've tried every suggestion that I've found in the Eve forums, the Wine AppDB,
and Google. I tried disable KMS too, but that didn't help.

System Info:
Debian SID for AMD64.
ATI Radeon 3100 (I am not using fglrx)
Xorg 7.5
Kernel 2.6.32.13
