Looks like a kernel issue, not a Wine issue.  However, since I'm on a 
Mac, I cannot confirm (I don't want to run Linux on this machine.)

Maybe someone else will be able to confirm what you found and open a bug 
with the Linux Distribution folks for the distro you are using.
