You probably need to disable pulseaudio, at least temporarily. 
Here's what I do. 

sh winetricks sound=alsa

edit /etc/pulse/client.conf
change:
# autospawn=yes
to 
autospawn=no

Then in your startup preferences, uncheck pulseaudio. Or, alternately, just run the following in terminal after you boot up. 

killall pulseaudio

That should do it.
