What distro? What version of Wine? 

There is an open bug for the DNS9 installer not installing everything it should, though the installer reports success: http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=14743

As to where to look for the installed files, the default wineprefix is ~/.wine. The "." makes that directory hidden, so to see it you will have to set your file manager to show hidden files.
