Again, I'll state this so it will show up on the mailing list as part of 
the thread:

Run ./configure.  Collect the configure.log file and post it to a site 
like pastebin.com.  Post ONLY the URL to the file location here.

Let a few of us get a chance to look at the file and make comments.
