General spam prevention note:
It might make a lot more sense to try an prevent spam by implementing
a whitelist for URLs that can be posted easily.(winehq links,
pastebin,  one image hosting service with messages if another one is
used, one url obfusication / shortener service (with messages
directing users attempting to use another to ot) (preferably tinyurl,
with all URLs being turned into the preview.tinyurl.com veresion.
goo.gl can also work if features are sufficient))

Other links (and redirect destinations of shortend links) should be
checked on a black list like ivmURI and the user should be banned
automatically pending review of the message which he/she was
attempting to post.

Non blacklisted URLs should be allowed after the user filled in a
captcha per post to confirm that it is a human posting the links (and
to annoy humans that post links)

The whitelist should slowly be expanded to include trusted vendor's
sites (with "trusted" meaning place where spam is unlikely)

Forum source code seem to not be in git?
