[Wine] Big issue since Wine 1.2 exiting programs/games...

Some questions for YOU:

What version of MacOSX are you using?
Have you installed XQuartz 2.5.3?
What specific games are affected?

I run Quake II, with Wine 1.2 and XQuartz 2.5.3 and I have not received the 'black screen of death' as you describe.  And I can run it in a windowed session as well (thanks to the incorporation of xrandr 1.3 code.)
