Update: Not just nouveau, same problem also occurs with other card "Intel Corporation Mobile 4 Series Chipset Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 07) (prog-if 00 [VGA controller])" using i915 driver. (Game works using this card in windows, but I hadn't had the chance to try it in linux before this error.) Not sure if that changes anything.
