Yes.

Yes.

However I will recommend against this for two reasons:

One, your monitor does not support this mode and changing to it may result in damage to the monitor (this is possible).
Two, can you change the game to work at 50 Hz vice 60.  This is a much better solution.

Don't know why the game is trying to use this mode as it should only select from the available modes presented by xrandr.
