Can you create a log file from the time you start the installer until it 
finishes?

That is from when you typed in wine <installer.exe> to when the $ prompt 
returns.  You can remove your machine name if you feel that is necessary.

Without knowing what happened before the failure it is not possible to 
provide solutions.
