Winetricks only submits the names of the apps you're installing AND NOTHING ELSE so the developer gets a good impression of what's installed the most (and thus is more important to maintain).

That is all. If you don't trust it, check the actual source code. It's a shell script, after all, so it's rather easy to check.

The new Winetricks even asks you if you want to enable this or not when you use it for the first time; it is off by default, and the message is even very polite, so there is absolutely NOTHING nasty about this.
