I have been running without the opengl tag in WoW for over a year now 
with no issues. For comparison:
Fedora 13 (32 bitPAE), Nvidia driver version 260.19.29 (card is a 460), 
5GB ram, AMD Phenom Quad-core, wine 1.3.11.  I have not had any lag 
issues in instances/raids.

Have you gone through the WoW page on the appdb for ideas to fix 
stuttering or lag?
