Well, I don't know what's causing that, but you can try the standard procedure:

1. If your WINE isn't up-to-date, make it so.
2. Check the AppDB: http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=version&iId=19964

And I suppose there's an ever-so-slight chance that running it in a virtual desktop will make it better.

The AppDB says to install dx3d9, gdiplus and dotnet20 (use winetricks).
