[Wine] Wine on Mac + Sony Vegas

Hello! I've never used Wine, and unfortunately I'm not at all familiar with running commands in Terminal (apart from strictly following instructions here and there from various sites), but I've had a lot of trouble trying to install Windows via Boot Camp on my Mac and I was hoping I could get Wine to work for an application.

I've found that Sony Vegas 8 seems to have worked here: http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=version&iId=16608. So my question is, would these steps and commands work for Mac as well?
