[Wine] Wine and simsig

Hi there for those that are not sure about the above program Simsig is a railway signal simulator that runs under windows, it is also a multiplayer game.  I am having problems running Simsig under wine V1.3, I am currently using Ubuntu 11.10.  I have however managed to get it working under wine V1.2 and that seems to work ok.  The problems I am having are as follows.  The program is slow at starting up and when the program eventually started up I tried to connect to my other pc the program locked up.  BUT under V1.2 it works fine and connects to my other pc just fine although its a bit slow.  If someone could give me some help on this matter I would be grateful.  I am not a big linux user and therefore know very little about it although my partner is quite good at linux and she is unsure as to what could be causing the problems.
