When you try to use a program on Wine it's definitely good to check out it's AppDB page. You will find there test reports from other users and HOWTO's or workarounds StarCraft II Retail AppDB (http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=version&iId=20882).

To get the updater working you need to install ie6 via winetricks:

winetricks ie6

OR set the override for "mshtml" to "native" in winecfg
