Hi there,
since upgrading to wine1.4-rc-5, anytime that i either A). Launch
winecfg/audio-tab or B). Launch any wine app, Wine tries to open an
ALSA device and crashes Jackd. ~ the only exception would be
Festige/FST which will launch my wineVST instruments and work as
expected.
On my system, Jackd is the default Sound server (ie: i t runs ALL of
the time, this also includes using the ALS-to-Jack bridge, mainly for
Adobe FLash). So now, wine attempts to use ALSA(and thus ALSA-to-Jack
bridge) even when no audio driver is selected in the app, or i have
specifically edited registry keys for a given app and told it to use
WineASIO.
is there anyway to stop Wine from assuming that i want it to use it's
current annoying behavior?
here is an example;
[ninez at ninez ~]$ wine '/home/ninez/.wine/drive_c/Program Files/Native
Instruments/Massive/Massive.exe'
fixme:ntdll:NtLockFile I/O completion on lock not implemented yet

then if i restart Jackd (leaving the app open to select the right
driver aka: wineASIO), both crash again. here is a link to the output
from the app/wine crash log itself.

with the last bit from my shell reading;

not sure, what it all means, other than i don't like this version of
wine, and may have to downgrade for the time being :\
