You could give this a read just in case it is a problem with the libraries being incorrectly located http://www.wiredrevolution.com/system-administration/how-to-correctly-use-ld_library_path , but I would be willing to bet that the issue is that you are using the xorg-edgers ppa. That ppa is frequently unstable.
