I already noticed that. I tried changing the permission for ping.. well, basically this:
chmod 711 /bin/ping
setcap cap_net_raw=ep /bin/ping

but it doesn't seem to have helped. I'm not entirely sure if that was supposed to allow me to also use the ping command when I'm running the cmd.exe or if it was simply supposed to help with the network problem, but either way.. it didn't work. :/ 

Still trying to find something that could help me with this..
