Yes the game requires tages to launch properly, and this is why it is crashing,
those patches are not in 0.9.49, I worked on them yesterday and that's where I
left off. Tages tries to load device drivers and ntoskrnl.exe is missing a
whole bunch of functionality. Tages wont' work until it's implemented,
currently with those patches it needs IoGetDeviceObjectPointer and
IoGetDeviceProperty to be implemented, then it will probably crash somewhere
else down the line.
