I have the same bug. On mine it flickers the hl2 loading screen whenever I
click the mouse, regardless of whether or not it does anything. This bug also
occurs in Warcraft III as well.

I tried turning on vertical sync in the hl2 graphics menu and that didn't fix
it.

windowed mode
ALSA sound

wine 1.1.9
Ubuntu 8.10
4 gb ram
amd phenom quad 9950 2.6 ghz
onboard ati radeon hd 3300 (790gx chipset)
