RosenkreuzStilette (http://kurotama.sakura.ne.jp/product/rks/top.html) seems to
hit this same bug.  Pops the program windows, and dies.

When running on my XP boot, I needed to enable Japanese fonts (not having them
produced buggy text, but didn't crash the game), but aside from that, it ran
perfectly.

Those other two games are Japanese, too-  Maybe it really is a font thing.
