--- Comment #118 from Stefan Dösinger <stefandoesinger at gmx.at> 2009-06-17 02:33:33 ---
* The Wine sound architecture needs some improvements. Nobody disputes this,
but there's nobody who's willing to fix it either.

* I'd love to fix it, but the day has only 24 hours. I am busy with d3d,
university, and I want some free time with my friends too. Replace "I" with
everybody else who's working on Wine, and you get an idea about why nobody
seems to care.

As has been adequately expressed in this bug, Wine is not perfect. There are
many, many areas that need attention, and Wine has maybe 20 full and part time
developers. And ranting that we don't care about users if we don't instantly
buckle down and support the 15th sound API on Linux won't help.

* You can't fix problems in the core sound architecture by adding yet another
sound plugin based on the broken core.

--> Anybody complaining in this bug report, check out the git code and fire up
your favorite text editor and fix the issues. What needs to be done has been
expressed multiple times here and on wine-devel. Now stop posting ranty
wishlists and start fixing the problems.
