A bit of progress to report: with James Hawkins' latest
patch, Lotus Notes 7 demo actually seems to install
properly.
(Doesn't run, but then that's another story.  See
http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=5708
Looks like a COM error.  Native dcom98 keeps it
from crashing, but it then seems to hang.)
