[Wine] Best version of WINE for source engine games?

It seems like every version of WINE past 1.1 is pure garbage for gaming with Source games (Counter Strike Source, TF2, etc). I was wondering if anyone has a preferred version of WINE that actually still runs all the source games without problems. I took about a year break from gaming, had no problems then, but come back to all my source games crashing after less than 5 minutes of gameplay.

So what version is the best for source gaming?
