Wine has a basic IE replacement build in. It is based on the Gecko
engine, and the basic browser, works, but is not really suitable for
general use. Some details can be found here:

I need an alternative, any alternative, that allows me to simulate Windows XP (which is required) and Internet Explorer. This Wine/ies4linux combination worked very well, but those Swedish pages recognized my Wine not as XP but as 98, so I couldn't download or install that e-id.

1. Complain to the site that they require you to buy expensive
software to use their site.
2. Try installing user-agent switcher in your Firefox.
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/59 It allows you to
change the identification that Firefox sends to the server. If the
site does not actually require any IE only features (ActiveX /
VBScript are the common examples), it should work.
3. If that still does not work, try installing IE in Wine. IEs4Linux
might work or winetricks can be used to install IE6. For winetricks
