What version of Wine? I was able to install and launch the free trial of its little brother, http://www.campbellsci.com/pc200w in wine-1.3.12 just fine (although no serial port showed up in the list, and help seemed to crash on exit). If updating to wine-1.3.12 doesn't help, can you try pc200w ?
